The Girl Behind the Lens
I discovered my love of photography during my Junior year of high school and have been working on improving my skills ever since. I've been casually shooting for approximately 13 years. My passions in this art form are portrait and travel photography. I love photography because it allows me to have a creative outlet that helps me to tell stories without the need for words. I love the creative freedom using my camera allows me; I enjoy the fact that it helps me to relate more closely to other places, cultures, and people through the lens.
Outside of photography I have several passions, including veterinary medicine, writing, traveling, reading, and hiking. Even though I am enjoying branching out into professional photography, my day to day life revolves around animals. I am currently in the process of studying to become a wildlife veterinarian, and work as a dog groomer and a vet assistant as I continue my education. I spend most of my free time exploring the outdoors with my dogs, or with my nose stuck in a book. Reading and writing provided me with creative outlets before I found photography and allowed me to dive into other worlds when this one became too overwhelming. Traveling has given me the opportunity to expand my horizons beyond the pages of books, get out of my head, and find a new appreciation for the world we live in.
I aim to bring all of these passions together through the wide variety of sessions I offer. I am also hopeful that working with me will help others to feel more comfortable expressing themselves, as photography and my other passions have done for me.
My goal is to provide each of my clients with unique portraits that really stand out and fit their personalities. I love working creatively with my subjects to make sure that they feel that their photos really show what they love and who they are.
